The Baltimore Gallery was founded in 2013 as an open art gallery and creative space for local and international artists of all cultures and disciplines. The gallery prides itself on being accepting and open to growing artists who want to showcase their work in the Detroit area. We have helped curate student exhibitions as well as hosted experienced nationally acclaimed artists; hosted private fundraisers and black tie galas; presented movie nights, poetry slams, and just all around enjoyable environments for kids and adults alike.

About Phil Simpson
Born and Raised in the City of Detroit, Artist Phillip Darnell Simpson has been drawing and painting since a child. Simpson works predominantly in the medium of painting but very sufficient in pencil. Simpson specializes in making people smile with his work. Some of his work can be found in galleries but also in many urban neighborhoods across the city. Simpson believes that if he makes one persons smile with his work, his job is done. Simpson is founder and owner of The Baltimore Gallery located in Milwaukee Junction, Detroit.
About Donna Jackson
Donna Jackson is a designer, artists, brand specialist and project manager. For the past 16 years, Donna has dedicated her skill as a designer and project manager to develop marketing and promotional materials for urban libraries. She has been a graphic/web designer for Detroit Public Library and Houston Public Library systems and brand manager for Houston Public Library. She currently consults libraries in brand identity development and is a regular presenter at library association conferences.
She attended Western Michigan University in the College of Engineering and also attended the College for Creative Studies as a Graphic Communications major. She is founder of DMJStudio, a creative studio that develops projects about urban communities and narratives using visual art and short digital content. Some of the most current project are Middle Detroit, Detroit: Door of Opportunity and Gilda's Girls
About Alexis Draper
If you were to ask Lex what her job title is at first, she’d respond Aficionado of Awesome or Maker of Shit Happening. After that shock or laughter wore off, she without a doubt would describe her work as one of a “Community Switchboard Operator”. She may not have the expertise or experience for everything, but she knows the direction to send you to get the job done. She owns From Lex With Love & Associates Event Planning where her team focuses on all levels of event planning, coordinating, and décor services. She’s also the founder and curator of Middle Finger to Cancer, a fundraiser to support the Relay for Life which benefits the American Cancer Society, which is in its 4th year. She is a creative professional who specializes in making spaces to support other creative professionals. She is more than an asset to any team, she is an accelerant. She brings all this passion, drive, and most importantly love to The Baltimore Gallery
